I haven’t had the chance to read this book yet, but it is surely on my “to do” list. I was very surprised and moved by the fact that the former U.S. Ambassador to Romania and his wife, wrote a book about Romania. These people actually leave something behind them….showing a different way to do politics! I do hope their example will not pass unnoticed by the Romanian authorities. The Romanian Government is pumping a lot of money in useless projects to promote Romanian tourism, while great projects are usually done with little resources and great ideas.<\/p>\n

The table of contents includes the following chapters: Listening to Romanians; The Romania You Don\u2019t Know; Beyond Communism; Living in the “Paris of the East;” A Drive in the Country; The Good King; Inside Transylvania; Deep in the Heart of Romania; In the Mountains of Maramures; It’s Moldavia not Moldova; The Blue Danube and the Black Sea; Back in Europe; Living in the Balkans, in the Shadow of the Kremlin; and Why Romania Works.<\/p>\n
