The League of the Romanian Students Abroad (LRSA)<\/a> has organized a conference about youth engagement in community life, called “citizen engagement in policy making.” These offline or face-to-face events play a significant role in increasing the level of citizen engagement. On one hand, they show the participants that “things can be done” and on the other hand they show that behind certain projects or online endeavors, there are real people, who have a story to tell. Besides the presentation of SMART Method of Public Policy<\/a>, for which success stories are yet to come, we listened to a presentation of the policy making tools available in Romania, made by Ciprian Ciucu from the Romanian Center for European Policy<\/a> and a listing of all the major stakeholders that may be involved in solving community problems, made by Dragos Preda. Congratulations LRSA for this initiative! There is a real need for more hands-on experiences in the Romanian schools!<\/p>\n
