Yesterday, September 23, 2010, SMART Method of Public Policy was officially launched at the Information Office of the Council of Europe. I thank all the participants who attended one of the most important events of my career and congratulate them for dedicating time and effort to an exciting yet difficult field, participative democracy. The event lasted for approximately two hours. Mariana Nitelea, the Manager of the Information Office opened up the discussions and I made a detailed presentation of the steps of the Method. The Q&A session followed, receiving great insights from the participants. The following organizations were present: The Resources Center for Public Participation, GRSP Society, PACT Foundation, The European Institute for Participative Democracy Qvorum, The Mediation Council, The Hungarian Minority Party, The Young Entrepreneurs Association from Romania, The National Authority for Sports and Youth, The European Students Union, The Rroma Party, Ameya Solutions, SMART Development Centre, and The Department of the Romanian Diaspora of the Romanian Government. The implementation of SMART Method is possible with funding from the European Commission’s Youth in Action Programme.

SMART Method of Public Policy allows citizens to create their own advocacy campaigns at a European level. Also, campaigns of national and local level are possible, in Romania, Greece, France, and Italy. Let us generate many success stories of citizen engagement!
