Eco-Terra Ltd. has become, as of July 1, 2011, partner of ZebraPay in Galati. With the assistance of a project financed by the European Commission through the Regional Operational Program 2007 – 2013, Eco-Terra will buy 12 self – service terminals for electronic payments and will also receive an additional 36 terminals for a limited period of time to better develop the business. The terminals will be placed in various partner locations throughout Galati, so that citizens have easy access to the latest e-payment technologies.

At the moment, ZebraPay terminals are offering clients the possibility to recharge prepaid plans using the TopUp technology at the major telecom operators Orange, Vodafone and Cosmote. Beginning with August 2011, clients may purchase railway tickets and, by the end of the year, they will be able to access e-payment services for utilities, landline telecom operators, Internet, cable TV, software licenses, and advertising tickets.

ZebraPay is investing over USD 3 million in 2011, to develop and extend its network of self – service terminals. At the moment, the company has finished installing 200 terminals in hypermarkets, supermarkets, malls, gas stations, railway stations, hospitals, and universities. By the end of the year the network will reach 1000 terminals.

Every self – service terminal for electronic payments has a touch screen that clients use to select the services they need to pay, as well as an advertising screen at the top. The software developed by ZebraPay provides easy and intuitive use of the applications, managing to process payments in record time. The advertising screen allows Eco-Terra to broadcast video ads for its partners and other stakeholders, offering a new commercial option in the city. The terminals are currently accepting cash only and the change is given through a bar code that clients can use for new payments.
