Young entrepreneurs in the European Parliament

May 10 is to become the official Young Entrepreneurs Day in Europe. This year, JEUNE (the Organization of Young Entrepreneurs of the European Union), organized the event to establish a link between young entrepreneurs and the institutions in charge of entrepreneurial policies. JEUNE also wants to contribute to the development of policies and legislation that are better accustomed to the needs of young entrepreneurs and also to recognize the success stories of its members. The schedule included meetings at the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee, while guest speakers were Dacian Ciolos – Commissioner on Agriculture, Florin Jianu – President of JEUNE, JEUNE’s vicepresidents from Hungary, Poland, France, and Italy, MEPs Marian Jean Marinescu and Edit Herczog, Eve Paarendson – Vicepresident of EESC, to name just a few.

Here are the policy measures that young entrepreneurs want to be taken at a European level:

  1. one common law for setting up a company in Europe.
  2. a more coordinated and united Europe – the United States of Europe.
  3. a European Investement Fund to finance start-up companies.
  4. a High Level Group for Young Entrepreneurs in the European Institutions.
  5. more funds for the programs stimulating young entrepreneurs.
  6. academic business incubators.
  7. one official day for young entrepreneurs in Europe, to share success stories.
  8. support for business internationalization.
  9. anual research on young entrepreneurs.
  10. European common curriculum for entrepreneurial education.

We believe that implementing these measures will have a pozitive impact on the economic growth in Europe and will increase the positive involvement of youth in global development.
